Thank you so much for your support to keep my shop open. I was reluctant to use Go Fund Me at first. I took the loss of sales personally, even though the pandemic really was at fault. A few people recommended Go Fund Me and though it is hard for me to ask for help, I want to keep my shop open!
We are holding a crafter's weekend on Saturday, September 19th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. (We will postpone it to the following Saturday, September 26th, if the weather doesn't cooperate.) We will have samples from the shop available for sale starting at $5. Sharon from Create Tricks will be here with a newly designed bag as well as plenty of Janice bags. We'll also have handmade cards and a baker on hand.
The holidays will be here before you know it so take this opportunity to purchase some gifts! Please call the store if you would like to participate as a crafter or if you have any questions.
We are happy to announce that we re-opened the shop for customers to do in store shopping (no more than 2 people at a time). Please continue to wear mask and we ask you to use hand-sanitizer that we leave at the front door for your convenience and safety. You will leave the shop from the back door, so another customer can shop!!!
At this time we will be having only private classes at $25/hour. You can request private Zoom meeting help at $20/hour.
We are still offering curbside pickup as well as placing orders by phone and virtual shopping. Virtual shopping is every Saturday. Today it will be available from 1-4 p.m. Please call the store to schedule your virtual shopping appointment or get more details.
We will have "Knit-in-Public" Gatherings on Saturdays ($15), weather permitting, outside the shop on the lawn. We will provide chairs or you can bring your own if you wish.
Come join us for our virtual weekly Get Togethers:
Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00 pm
Fridays from 5:00-7:00 pm
Starting this Sunday, August 16th, the store will be open on Sundays BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Lana is moving her mom into her house and needs that extra day to get everything done. This will continue until October. Please call the store if you need to stop by the store on a Sunday. The store hours for the rest of the week will remain the same.
What we considered in the past being impossible is becoming possible today. More and more customers choose virtual classes and "drop-ship" purchases. We encourage that! It is yet not safe to be in close encounters with a crowd. But it is very hard to shop for yarn without touching it... if this is the case... please come in, just don't forget to bring your mask.
Berroco's dropship project of the week is this lovely sweater and hat! It's great when two colors blend so well together for lovely colorwork! These yarns are Pixel and Ultra Wool DK. They are offering two kits to make this sweater and hat. You can order them directly from the shop and we will be credited with a purchase. https://www.berroco.com/yarns/berroco-ultra-wool-dk?utm_source=Berroco+KnitBits&utm_campaign=59e19291c2-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_01_09_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_070ba25ba5-59e19291c2-10437527
Join us for the Jealous Dog MKAL! Amica got jealous of the popularity of The Sharon Show MKAL. Amica has been picking yarn off the shelves for six months and her efforts have not been recognized by Lana. Amica is also missing all the attention she usually gets from the store's customers due to the pandemic. This is a way for her to get some overdue attention back!
The MKAL will be a sweater. The colder weather is coming! This will be an easy and fun knit for both beginning and intermediate knitters. The MKAL will be all about proper fit. You can choose yarn from your stash or pick up yarn from the store. Amica recommends one solid or tonal yarn (to be used as background) and one self-striping yarn. The composition and gauge for your yarns needs to be the same.
The MKAL will start on September 1st. Amica is a good listener so you can talk or whine to her. However, be aware that she probably won't do anything because she'll be too busy chasing her tail! Lana will be the supervisor. More details and Amica's yarn choices will be in the next newsletter!
Thank you to everyone who is knitting the Jealous Dog MKAL! Please take pictures of your progress and share them with us! Clue 2 will come out next week. Here is Amica with Clue 1 completed.

EmPower people is a purple colored craftivism project aimed at uniting crafters to spark conversation, engagement, and action. I devote my time to promote the values and benefits of knitting and crocheting.
I learned to knit when I was five years old. My grandmother taught me my first stitches. I learned to crochet on my own and then, I taught my grandmother to crochet. It did not take me long to start designing and making my own sweaters and dresses. It was then when I developed my passion for knitting and it has brought me to open my own yarn store and studio. Come join us for an afternoon, it could change your life.
Knitting is a social craft. You can knit and talk about anything at the same time. And when everybody leaves for home, we feel much better after sharing our problems. I designed my store with a table and chairs in the front, inviting anyone to sit and join us while we knit.
Knitting is relaxing and can be meditative. It is therapeutic, both in it's social aspect and it's relaxing qualities.
Knitting is my way of expressing my creativity and originality. Everything I make is an original work, because it is one of a kind, and nobody else has it. You do not need to be an experienced knitter to achieve great results.
You possess the power of giving! Make a hat or blanket and give it to a friend, or to a non-profit organization. By knitting and giving it away, it is a great way to practice your craft, and you give something to others they will cherish forever.
I have a degree in education, and I offer many classes in my studio. I cater to beginners and experts with a variety of projects. Sign up for our newsletter to find out about our latest classes!
